▣ BASICAlias: Prince Age: 79; approximately equivalent to 43 Species: Tevoran Genre: Space Opera ▣ APPEARANCE Like all Tevorans, Prince looks fairly indistinguishable from Earth humans. They are physiologically and mentally similar, despite their extended lifespans, and very possibly share some common ancestor. Prince himself is a middle aged man, physically large and fit, with broad shoulders, dark skin, and thick brown hair with a single violet strip. He is neat and well groomed, stands very straight, and rarely smiles. His personal style tends towards tailored, simple, but expensive clothing with definite function in subdued colors, however he is also drawn to ornate trappings, when he allows himself any kind of comfort.
▣ ABOUTOnce upon a time Prince was merely part of a much longer title attached to an even longer name. What began as an affectionate if slightly tongue-in-cheek nickname from his brood is now the only moniker that anyone seems to know him by. A part of one of the older broods still living, and one of the few of his still left, he's a highly experienced member of the Nest, and has a position as a teacher, Guardian, and protector of new hosts.
That's now. Then he was a son of a man who ruled, born to class and responsibility and raised to expect obedience and demand respect. Everything changed for him when he was brought into the Nest. Unlike some he settled badly. Not worse than anyone, but his strong sense of self, personal responsibility, and rank left him unwilling to fold himself into the hive mind completely. Only keen obligation kept him from drawing further away from the newfound power of the symbiote. While he never embraced the creature or his new being entirely, he viewed it as a weapon. A valuable, worthwhile, and exceedingly dangerous one. One which he has wielded.
His life since then has been a precarious balancing act. Denying himself the pleasures and comforts of the Nest but always being close enough to know they are right there waiting for him. It would be easy to say that self flaggilating behavior is what lead him to become such a sullen person, but the truth is he has always been a petulant, stubborn, contrary man, his nature only somewhat disguised by how quiet he typically is. The only thing that has changed is his expectation for the future.
